Since the last post was about our hunting guests and their trophies, I will add a few humorous wildlife-related photos which have shown up by e-mail in the last year. In a day or two, I hope to be over the deep chill bug which an outlander brought in to the canyon.

This photo ought to inspire some buck fever.

Good morning chuckle.
Thanks!
Even I got some relief watching that elk scratch...had to join him!
You're welcome, Carteach - feel free to pass on the chuckle!
Mushy - I didn't know you had antlers!!! We thought you were just horny.
Well, now I know why the antlers are covered with "felt"!
And that trampoline might be dangerous, be it'd be a "hoot" to watch! Maybe even pay a few bucks to view!
Bruno, nothing like the velvet touch - I was wondering what happened later, too.
Do you think the photographer already 'paid a few bucks' to bed down under there?
Loved the sniper fox, Lin. The others have already taken my remarks about the antlers.
Cat, that fox was my favorite, too.
Doesn't it kill ya it when someone beats you to the good comebacks? Been happening a lot to me lately, too.
LOVED those. . especially the fox hunting one.
My Dad was staioned in England. He had quite a few female admirers back then, and one of them, of a wealthy family, took him along on the proverbial formal fox hunt.
However my Dad was chastised for she had to tell him the proper exclamation is "Tally Ho!" Not. . "There goes the little red son of a bitch!"
Lin, that fox just kills me, too. If the rabbits around here weren't full of bubonic, I'd be tempted to train a fox like that. The cats would hate the shooting noise, the dogs would eat everything on the way home ... I figure the fox might land in between there somewhere.
GREAT story on the fox hunt! One of the best parties I ever attended was an annual Hunt Club Ball. The Master was a lovely and dignified gentleman but I am thinking that he would have had to suppress a great impish grin had he heard your father's version of "Tally Ho". If his son ever makes it down to visit us as promised, he will LOVE that story.
I would love to see those deer skatter and get all hung up in that trampoline. Gotta be somethin' like that on YouTube. And yea, I need to go scratch it now that I've seen thet picture. You'll excuse me.
Loved the pics! I know someone who needs to see these. But the comments... (grooooooannn).
FHB, that would be a priceless 'hitting the fan' moment for sure.
Just what is it with that sympathy scratching thing with you guys!? grin
Craver, the best thing to do is click on the images and do a 'save as' so that your friends don't stumble into the comments section ... we definitely be naughty at times. Once you get the images saved, send them to your parties by e-mail - it will work out nicely!
LOL! I love the trampoline pic:)
Goddess, it would certainly be the wrong way to get the jump on the hunting season, wouldn't it?
You are so kind, Lin. But I wasn't talking about nastiness as much as the proliferation of puns. They were just flyin' all over the place. :-)
Aww thanks, Craver, I feel better. I know that 'me and the boys' can get a little naughty at times in the comments section. Yeah, I guess the puns were equally as bad this time around - must have just been that kind of week out here at the Rat!
