Just a heads up to let you know that I, God willing and the creek don't rise, will be heading into the big city this week to look at possible alternative homes a little closer to civilization for the remainder of our Rat pack. It still has to be rural, no half acre lot will do now that we have lived out here in solitude and loved it so completely. Hopefully many necessary things will be accomplished during this, my second trip out of our canyon this year. It would appear that the 2nd nearest neighbors have come to the rescue by finding me a critter sitter (including the guy's ex!?) for this event. This still may beat having to battle Ms. Daisy (the extreme travel barfer) to get her into the truck and drop her off elsewhere. Please wish me luck in every way on this venture ... I am SO severely jaded on melodrama.
Red will just have to wait a little longer to find out just what he said and did during our unplanned but most excellent wake for Terry up at Slim's Cowboy Hotel. You bet, we did it up in the most fine of Irish traditions possible all right.
Remember; I may be off-line for a while so your comments may not show up for a bit.

That's good news to my ears Lin...god I wish you were out of there and surrounded by new folks willing to help you get back on your feet.
I'm praying for ya, if that helps.
Hope that you make it out and have a successful trip, will be thinking about you.
Well, I can't say I blame you. Living country is one thing, but my hats off to you for being able to live the way you have in The Rat!!
That said, P-ville is a pretty nice place with lots of country. Don't have the mesas and canyons like you are used to, but do have me and Buck. LOL!
Good luck on the house hunting, Lin. I'd offer you up one of the spaces here at Beautiful La Hacienda Trailer Park (were they mine to offer, but that's beside the point)... but we've had an influx of migrant workers this past week or so, and the park is full for the first time in recent memory.
But, Hey! I DO have connections, the park is still in New Mexico, and we have the interesting odd moment or two. And interesting odd denizens, as well!
All kidding aside: Good Luck.
You'll be back---I'll be here.....!
Good Luck in your search Lin...hopefully you can stay close to the wild.
This is a "form comment" to my blog buddies.
Poor old Bloggin' Babzy was all worn out so I had to kill her off and bury her in the "Garden of the Past" along with a few other characters, thought patterns, bad habits, and old shoes. In time I will be starting a brand new blog with a completely different focus and will send you the link.
Until then enjoy the rest of the summer my friend. Take care.
Just checking in to see how things are going... good luck on finding the perfect place..
I hope you find a suitable location in a timely manner and that all the little details work out in your favor.
Thanks for the moral support, you guys! My truck made it to Red and Sally's despite a half throttle limit. Some encouraging progress to report when I get back to the ranch on the weekend (don't want to hog Sally's computer more than necessary).
I hope the pooch has a easy trip, some dogs just cant handle the road can they. And good luck finding a new set of lodgings.
I hope you found the perfect new home, Lin!
Whenever you return, I'll be here.
Let us know how searcg goes...good luck.
I hope you find something that is almost perfect. Company has left and the house is quiet. Give me an email or call this weekend if you have time.
big hug

Honey, I am SO looking forward to coming to visit you this fall, wherever you are going to be-- once you settle on a place, we can set a date and I'll come be some volunteer slave labor for a couple days. Deal?
Can't wait for the next instalment. Just don't sit next to Ms Daisy!!
Hope you're okay. I'm thinking about you.
I hate to see you leave the wonders of your homestead, but I'm glad to hear you going ahead and moving closer to help, if you need it. Good luck with all of that. I guess every ending is also a new beginning. A treasured life ends and a new life begins. Something poetic in that.
