There was six inches on the ground by Monday morning, another three added by the following morning. .
I had something half-written to go with these photos. I cannot finish it at the moment but wanted to let you see our latest storm before it became old news.

Brrrr! Looks cold, Lin. I hope you and Mark are staying warm, the generators are working, and you gotchyer inter-tubes.
We're getting the residuals of your cold-snap today here on The High Plains... but nothing near what all y'all got.
That first pic is beautiful, Lin.
Do your dogs enjoy the snow? Holly is the first dog we've ever had the not only loves snow, but RAIN. Every dog we've ever had avoided anything wet like the plague.
9" is getting into the hard to handle zone, hope that Mark was able to make his rounds this morning or there will have been a lot of unhappy ladies out there.
Cool pics, hope that your water is still running.
I'm so envious...I want to play!
Buck, oddly enough, the temps were much warmer than they had been. I'd always been told that it can be too cold to snow and that certainly seems true out here. Apparently we are heading back into the subzero nights soon so this snow weather has been a treat ... even got the water running again Sunday! Of course, it won't last. Hope you miss out on the worst of this next cold snap, too.
We are only cold, not a lot of snow yet. Only -6 today but going to -30 by the weekend.
Goddess ... do our dogs like snow? OMG, they LIVE for it! I would have never thought that anything with an Aussie heritage could warm up to snow but they plow head first into it, roll in it and make dog angels every chance they get. Now there are very few opps for of me to take photos of a pristine snow blanket any more because they have to frolic in every square foot of it. Snow dogs!!!
dba, Mark got yesterday off since the weather was so warm. If there is only a thin skin of ice on the tanks, the ladies are very comfortable in breaking it for themselves. I'm thrilled since every day off saves 35-40 new miles on our 'see us out' vehicles.
The water started to run again on Sunday but might disappear again soon with the new colder temps moving in. Oh joy.
Mushy ... wish you were here then! It's that perfect kind of snow fort / snowball fight snow, too. From you, I could enjoy a good 'incoming' to the side of the head. That reminds me, we need to shovel some of this snow over our 'outdoor freezer' while supplies last.
Moose, Owen needs some decent snow to play in with gramps! You might have to bring him to NM at this rate.
Wow .... minus 30? Now, is that in French or English though? Or does it matter at that point? I remember some point at which they are the same.
That looks wonderul! It's in the mid 70s here. had to turn the AC on in the house. Bummed. Enjoy it for me.
Very cool! Beautiful photos. It looks so peaceful and quiet.
Very nice photos indeed. There cattle dogs arent they, maybe theres a hint of huskie in there as well.
FHB, like I told Mushy, the snowball fight material is EXCELLENT right now ... with no mechanical cooling necessary! C'mon down and throw a few! The Apres-snowball is pretty darned good, too.
Plegmmy, of all the places I've been snowed upon, this setting is by far my favorite. What was already pretty quiet and peaceful becomes even more so. You'd absolutely love it, too.
Alex, we figure that Brou is very much Red Aussie Shepard but we suspect that the vet used a liberal definition of the term when desperately trying to find her a home (salesmanship and all). I think they take after most Aussies in general - just plain tough and nuts both.
Love the pictures Lin! Can I be in the snowball fight?
Minus 30 is celsius. The two are the same at minus 40.
Ohhh ... Towanda, bring your mittens! A genuine organizer would be a great asset on the snowball fighting front. Believe it or not, that used to be my forte in the snow fort.
