The Luddite Ventures Out

.
Forgive me for sharing a techno experiment with you here. I have been fascinated with this movie feature ever since Blogger introduced the capability a couple of weeks ago. Mark and I got a laugh out of this one tonight (I think it came from pal John E. in Phoenix). Don't try it if you can't handle a 2 meg download, okay? Here goes:

I will continue our regular journal by very late Friday night. BIG day tomorrow since I am going to make my semi-annual trip into town. Hopefully the doctor will have something encouraging for me to report. Wish me luck, okay?

The temperatures dropped down to 28F during the last couple of nights. We're into Fall, no doubt about it now. Time to get the last of our winterizing projects done!

Sounds chilly, do you get snow... if so I'm jealous.

Good luck with the doctor today!

Holy crap - 28F??? We're still in the 90s here, dropping to the 70s at night. Wow.

That one monkey was really leaning into that kiss...LOL. I'd say it wasn't his first time;)

I kinda felt sorry for the first girl though. It was clear from the giggling she was really looking forward to that test.

Hi Lin
I meant to mention that I had blogrolled your blog, it must have slipped through the cracks. :-)
Thanks for your reciprocation by the way.

You look great to me...I'm sure the Doc will agree!

I guess I don't understand the difference in cut and pasting html form YouTube to post and the blogger thing. Care to explain?

Good luck today, Lin.

We're getting chillier at night here on The High Plains, too, but only down into the low 50s. Cool enough to put an extra blanket on, but not cold enough to fire up the furnace. It's coming, though...

The vid? Hilarious!!

I hope your Doc gives you some good news Lin.
Winter is fast approaching here also. All the geese are heading south.

PopeT, we sure do get snow. Not as much as some places I've lived but it sure looks pretty. I will post photos when we get our first of it and then after any good storms. You still see plenty of mesa wall because of their steep stepped nature but it really is lovely.

Phlegmmy, it is the altitude that brings us the cold weather. Our high desert is like that. Mind you, it got up to the 70s during the day today. The sun makes all the difference up here or I'd already be back in my red flannels 24/7.

Goddess, wasn't that one monkey something else? We laughed so darned hard when we watched that. Yeah, you could tell that the first cute little girl was getting all sorts of goose-bumpy at the prospects. I didn't want to see her get surprised either.

Indeed, nothing more fulfilling than a trip to the doctor! I'm due again next week---oh, GOD, I can hardly stand the anticipation!

I see what you were "talking" about earlier, the problem with Blogger pics---they were there when I posted, they'll probably be back in a couple more days. I think yours done that more than once in the past, and a week later, they showed up again. Probably do that to keep us HUMBLED, for the price we pay....!!!

And 28 is a bit nippy, indeed. And as you pointed out, fall IS officially HERE. Doesn't seem like it should be, but, hey---it's kinda out of OUR hands!

You're most welcomed, RobC. I should link to both of your blogs. The Megalicious Mayhem blog has some pretty cool gearhead items on it.

Gosh, Mushy, that is a pretty outta date photo you know. That poor old face has been destroyed a couple of times since then so I am quite fond of that photo now.

Thing is, I don't do html for the life of me but with this feature, apparently, I can upload one of my own videos by hitting the film icon while in compose mode. It works out as easily and just the same as adding a photo. I have so many really neat or funny videos that just sit here in my computer so I find this very exciting. Well ... exciting for a Luddite, you know. Look for the little film strip icon in the top bar and hit it - you'll see what I mean.

Buck! Only low 50s!? I'm going to check our NM atlas right now to find your elevation. Ah-hah, we're a half mile further up into the clouds so that explains it! You wouldn't think it would really make that much of a difference, would you? I found that out in a hurry though - don't get me started on stock main jets out here.

Alphonse, we're starting to see the birds leave as well. You sort of hate to seem them leave, don't you? My hummingbirds are less and less frequent now and I now see birds starting to group up together, likely for the journey even further south from here. I'm already looking forward to their return in the Spring.

Bruno, it sounds like you are about as awed with the medical profession as I. Initially, I would rather stay home and pull out nose hairs than bother with a doctor. When I get home, I wished I had followed my initial gut inclination and saved money in the process ... $175 cash for 15 minutes this time. But I will reserve judgment after trying some samples for a couple of weeks that he did generously give me. I'm trying, REALLY trying not to say Humbug yet.

Isn't that disappearing blog photo thing great? Buck put me on to hitting the refresh button and that usually works ... but not always 100%. You're right, guess we can't complain about not getting what we pay for sometimes. I'm sure Google will change all that in good time.

Where did the summer go, Bruno?!? Now that we really don't have to be schedule-responsible, it is going even quicker. There is some kind of injustice going on here. I bet you are finding exactly the same thing.

lin, I hope that your Doc does some positive things for you. I don't like the idea of a star blogger being ill. (yeah, I know you don't, either.)
We're at a mile high (+ or -) here in Albuquerque.
I am looking forward to winter with about the same level of enthusiasm as a root canal.
Re the cost of health care? Our governator told a gathering he had seen to it that we all got med care here.

Lin said...

Cat, it definitely stopped Feeling like summer here but that actually has some minor advantages (although none so compensatory that I look forward to it eithert).
Ol' Bill has us covered, huh? Thanks, I feel so relieved to know that now. grin!

All the Canada Geese like to migrate south to USA and they don't even need a passport.

Hope all is well with you Lin. These things are sent to try us.

Lin said...

Babzy, I'll take a good goose from Canada any day over some of the undocumented stuff that shows up here.

But have you noticed that some folks get more trial samples than others? I want to sign up for the national "DoNotTryMe" list when it comes out.
