Christmas Leftovers!

.
Since I have no one to send home with foil-covered plates full of turkey, cookies and candy, this is my next best outlet. I am sending you home with some amusing site links. I had a few more but I think I deleted them in my rush to pare down the inbox e-mails from over 200 to under 50.

This one is from our favorite physicist. Click on each figure to add or subtract from the delightful cacophony:
Click on the reindeer

Here's one from our Rick the Welder, it's a great way to work off some mild aggression in a fun and rewarding way.

Oh, and you might want to nominate a neighbor on this site:

Hi guys. We'll save some of our leftovers for our next trip to the homestead. Of course, they may be a bit green and fuzzy. I liked Rick's snow ball game. BTY, how is Rick. Nice guy. He should have moved to NM also.

Hope you are keeping warm. It's about 12 degrees and VERY windy here in Cedar Crest tonight (Thurs).Red

Red, great! We'll add them to some of our mystery green fuzzy things and have one heck of a feast for days!

We have tried everything to get Rick down here but I haven't given up yet.

You beat us by one degree - we're at 11 degrees F at 9:30PM Mtn. It was cold here all day with no sun. So we baked a ham to get some extra heat. It will also be good and fuzzy by the time you two get here.

You had to say "turkey leftovers". I've eaten my turkey leftovers and now I want some more.

Merry Christmas Ln and Happy New year.

England has been fantastic and we fly home tomorrow. ABout 37 Hours all up including rail trip and refuel..so very jet lagged by the time we hit the front door of home.

Wishing you and yours the very best!

Some of those tacky yard displays must be tapped into a nuclear power generator! Seriously, I wonder what kind of damage those "Griswold family" displays inflict on the electric bill.

Keep thinking warm thoughts, Lin.

Babzy, I can relate!!! I am going through turkey withdrawal since we never did find an attractive turkey sale. I am deeply fantasizing over turkey sandwiches with mayo even as I type. Mind you, we scored a couple of rib roasts VERY reasonably (one of which gets roasted today) but still ... nothing like a good cold hit of
tryptophan. Serious comfort food.

Simon, what a grand Christmas adventure! You're obviously still far more game than us to invest 37 hours of travel abuse - good on ya! Doesn't getting back home always feel so good even if you just had the time of your lives elsewhere?

Craver, I have to wonder about the electric bills, too. You know they're not putting up solar panels and batteries to support the show. My bother is that Tim Allen, Griswold kind of guy but they have reasonable rates, too. But he does get a lot of very appreciative compliments on his lakeside display. I used to love it as a kid when just about everyone except for the true grinches put up lights ... sigh.

Every time I see displays like that, I think, 'Wouldn't want to put them up and wouldn't want to take them down" ...LOL!

My lights would look like the guy in the one commercial...everything is in a HUGE ball:)

Goddess, now that's one good thing about going off-the-grid; you start calculating "Thats ten watts plus ten watts plus ten watts plus ten watts ..." and then you say, "Fergedabowdit ... we'll kill the generator with that draw. Let's fill up paper bags with sand and candles and just torch the place and get it over with."

I don't bother with lights, either---don't want anyone thinkin' I'm startin' to get all SOFT, and FRIENDLY, on 'em around here...!

Bruno, I can appreciate that sentiment, too. Sometimes claymores can say Happy Holidays just SO much better.

Sometimes claymores can say Happy Holidays just SO much better.

LOL! But...which kind? The traditional, up close and personal Scottish? Or the "this side toward enemy" go-boom type?

Either/or...I RELATE. Is it too late for a resounding "Bah, Humbug!"?

Lin said...

Buck, I hadn't even thought about the Scottish originals! Wouldn't that lend a nice flair of traditional to the process. Sadly, laddie, I'll no be swinging the Claymore after'n ta last dance wi' Ms. Daisy.
I should ask Red to bring out his kilt and arms for the next plink fest so that Sally and I can report on the gam-fest. (Red, Sally told me about your shapely gams already).
